Family photo phone case

A family photo phone case puts the people you love on a case made for your exact phone. Family photos are wide and full of people, and on a tall case every face gets smaller. The trick is to pick the right photo, crop it well, or use more than one.

Faces belong in the lime area. Leave the top, where the camera opening is, to background.

How many faces fit

Up to four or five people fit well in one photo if they stand close together. With a bigger group, each face becomes tiny on the case, and the photo turns into a crowd. Then a closer photo of part of the family, or a collage made beforehand, tells the story better than one wide picture.

A quick test: in the preview, can you recognize every face at arm's length? If not, choose a closer photo.

Crop out the empty space

Group photos often have a lot of sky, floor or room around the people. That space takes room your family needs. In the design step, pinch or scroll to zoom in until the group fills the case from side to side. Then check the edges: nobody at the end of the row should lose half a face.

Pick a photo everyone likes

In every family photo, someone has their eyes closed or hates their smile. If the case is a gift, choose a photo where everyone looks happy, or ask someone in the family which photo they would choose.

Before you choose: a sharp original

Whatever the subject, the photo has to be sharp at full size. The back of a phone is much larger than a thumbnail, and every soft edge shows. Three quick checks help:

Big families: make the collage first

The case takes one picture. For a big family, a collage works well: one photo per child, per grandchild or per year. Make it in your phone's photo app, save it as one picture and upload that. Put the photo with the most sky or background at the top of the collage, where the camera opening is.

In the design step, use Undo if you change your mind, and Start over to try another photo.

Keep faces clear of the camera

The camera opening is cut out of the case. Leave the top of the photo to background. While you drag the photo, the faded part outside the case shows what will not be printed, so you can see whether anyone is cut off.

A gift for parents and grandparents

Family cases are a favorite gift for parents and grandparents. Find out quietly which phone they have before you start, because the model decides the case. A family name or a year is enough text; it does not need a message.

Which case type

Tough is a safe everyday choice for a phone that gets dropped. Snap and Clear are lighter and are offered on many models. Choose a phone case material explains the options.

Make it in three steps

  1. Choose model. Check their exact phone model first.
  2. Case type. Tough for everyday protection, Snap or Clear for a lighter case.
  3. Design. Tap the case to add the group photo, zoom until the family fills the case, and keep faces away from the camera opening.

Mistakes to avoid

Ordering and delivery

When the preview looks right, add the case to your cart and pay securely with Stripe, in euros, pounds or dollars. We make and dispatch your case within 2 business days after payment. Delivery then usually takes 5–7 business days within Europe, 5–10 to the United States and up to about 20 to Australia. These are estimates, so leave some room before a birthday or a holiday.

Your case is made for you, so it cannot be returned because the photo, the spelling or the model was wrong. If it arrives damaged or does not match the preview, write to us with the order number and a photo.
