iPhone 18 Pro or 18 Pro Max?
The two phones look almost the same, but the Pro Max is larger, so each has its own case. Cases for the iPhone 17 Pro or 17 Pro Max do not fit either, because the size and the camera block changed.
To check, open Settings, General, About and read the model name. If the case is a gift, the box or the receipt will tell you. Choosing the wrong size is the most common reason a case does not fit.

Both the iPhone 18 Pro and the Pro Max are offered in all five case types:

MagSafe or not?
The iPhone 18 Pro has MagSafe built in. Any case adds a layer between the phone and a magnetic accessory. MagSafe Tough and MagSafe Clear have their own magnetic ring, so chargers, wallets, grips and car mounts hold firmly through the case. The other three types work with wireless charging, but magnetic accessories will not hold well through them.
Tough or Snap?
Tough is the choice for a phone that lives in a bag, gets dropped or goes on a building site. Snap is thinner and lighter and suits a phone that is treated gently. Clear shows the phone's own color around your photo, which works well with the Pro's finishes.

Designing around the camera block
The large camera block is the part of the design you cannot change. It sits near the top of the back and is cut out of the case. These rules keep your photo looking its best:
- Keep faces below the camera block. Leave clear space above heads, so nothing looks squeezed.
- Use the top for background. Sky, a wall, sea or a plain backdrop at the top means the opening only covers something unimportant.
- Keep text away from the rim. A name or a date in the lower third is easy to read and safe from the edges.
- Trust the preview. It shows the opening for the model you picked, so you see what will be printed.
Photo ideas for the iPhone 18 Pro
The case takes one photo across the whole back. A portrait taken with the phone held upright fits best. Some ideas:
- A portrait of a person or a pet, with sky or a plain background above the head.

- A photo with a border: zoom out a little and pick a background color, so the color frames the photo.
- A few favorites in one. The case takes one photo, so make a collage first in your phone's photo app, save it as one picture and upload that.
Always use the original photo from your camera roll. Screenshots and photos saved from messaging apps are compressed and can print soft on the larger Pro Max.
